Don’t Let the Sales Get the Better of You!

If you haven’t checked your email this week, you are about to be inundated with targeted ads and emails about Memorial Day Weekend sales. I LOVE a sale, okay? Who doesn’t? The issue I have with sales is when you end up buying something you do not need, didn’t actually want, or end up purchasing on sale because it is low quality.

When I am working with folks who are feeling overwhelmed in their home, they often say something to the effect of “I don’t know how all of this stuff ended up here”. Now, obviously sales are not the only cause of that. There are the family members that show up with knick knacks and sometimes we come home from a party with goodie bags filled with items that “may come in handy someday”.

Whatever the clutter culpritis, being aware of the items coming into your home will go a long way in reducing overwhelm. I suggest using the steps below when bringing an item into your home:

1. Do I need this?

2. Will there be space for it in my home?

3. Can I buy it elsewhere at a higher quality?
